Monday, Eugene finally got passes from his company to go to the zoo for free so we went with my in-laws. 4 adults and 2 kids. By the time we got to the zoo, it was almost 11.30am and we didn't get out of there till 4.15pm. My MIL must have packed the whole kitchen for us to munch on so that we didn't have to stop for lunch, so it was a great load off when we stopped by the orang utans to eat sandwiches, fruit and drink loads of water. All in, we spent $3.90 for parking! Not bad, but we didn't get to see all the animals because we were too tired to carry on after the Elephant show. Renee didn't even make it for the show, she fell asleep just 2 minutes before the start and NOTHING could wake her up! Now I know why they sell Friends of the Zoo memberships: so that people don't feel pressured into seeing every single exhibit in one day. DUH!
Bad thing: Russell is now down with the flu because a little boy sneezed in his face and tonight, Renee is down with a fever, I think the bug is being passed between the two. Sigh.
Prior to going to the Zoo, I kept telling Renee that we were bringing her there to meet her cousins - the MONKEYS! Ha ha
