Art and cutting

Our little girl is into cutting now....my FIL got her a real pair scissors (don't ask me why) and she's been cutting ever since. She's gotten pretty good at it and I went out and got her some craft glue as well. While at Spotlight (my they've got lots of stuff there!) I saw some foam cut outs. So cute! The fish/dolphin/starfish one is already all over the house and she took the monkey/tree/banana one to paste all over my in-laws's wall! Pretty straight line don't you think??

This is the sand art she's been bugging me to do. She picked Dora and next week, we HAVE to go back and do Sponge Bob. Sheeesh!

Art class

Been rather in awe of Auntie Wendy's friend, Ching who's daughter has been producing these amazing works of art. Was thinking of sending Renee for some sort of art class and she was bugging me about this plaster painting thingy at Suntec City so last Sunday when Russell was at class, I brought her to Plaster Fun and she picked a Hello Kitty, apparently the most popular.....

After a few strokes (I swear it's NOT easy man! You need steady hands to work on such a small piece), I ended up doing most of the painting.

The Hello Kitty is wearing yellow above but by the time we were done, I had to change it to dark blue and Kitty has a blue birth mark on her left chin - so POOR THING!

My fault la, I picked the cheap one at $9.90 so we both had to struggle to get this wet paint onto the tiny cat :(

Anyways, before the cat was dry, she said she wanted to do the Sand Art. Wah lao! I told her next Sunday when Russell is at class, one at a time mah. She's been whining about going since then. Hmmm...

Easter Weekend

Well, I was supposed to go get some Easter eggs to hide all over the house, something I picked up from my stay in America some 10 years ago. My wonderful friends, the Kirchers did open my eyes to so many things while they played host to me. And this week, they are in Taiwan to meet their adopted son, I am really so happy for them. They should be bringing Spencer home in the next few days, I'm sure.

Anyway, when I visited Julie's sister Liz in Atlanta, they hid eggs all over the garden and gave all the kids a basket each to "hunt" for the eggs. I wanted to bring that back to my own household. But blame work and other things, never got a chance to get the eggs.

Thankfully, my mom bought the kids some Easter bunnies which they were more than grateful for. It was a little big for them but they weren't complaining!
