Russell wants some chilli crabs

Just discovered the black and white mode on our camera! Grandpa and grandson, who just poo-pooed after trying some chilli crabs....

Being healthy - damn important la!

Was down with the stomach flu over the holidays. Not pleasant at all, I tell you. Christmas day, boxing day (attempted to go to work but had to go home after 2 hours) and the day after was a big blur for me. I think I must have spent 80% of the time lying on the couch, trying hard not to puke whatever little I had consumed. I just let my in-laws take care of the kids, while I lay there helpless. If anyone attempted to snatch away my Chanel bag, it would be long gone by now. I liken myself to a sack of retarded potatoes, no offence to them DE-LISH spuds.

Thank goodness, the virus has come and gone just like Christmas. But not with some wonderful memories. Renee, now being a precocious almost-three-year-old, was totally excited by all the presents she received. I can just imagine what was going through her mind when she ripped wrapper after wrapper to unveil gift after gift. The delight on her face was a sight to behold. Russell, well, give him another two years, he'll get there! He just sucked on his thumb intently as always. But once the present was opened and put in front of him, he'd jump off his bum. Bounce bounce bounce! Ha ha ha!

Anyway, as usual, there were tonnes of presents. Half of them are still not opened. I will let them last the 12 days of Christmas. So thank you to everyone who showered my precious kids with your wonderful gifts!
For me, I intend to make up on the gorging during Chinese New Year. I had no appetite whatsoever during Christmas. I think I didn't even have a sliver of turkey! Sob!
Enjoy some pictures!
2 pm: Renee opening her first present! She was so happy to finally open something!

I think she saw the Minnie Mouse days before because she kept pointing to the present and saying Mickey Mouse. Eugene and I thought she was psychic. Hmm....

Mummy here bought Renee an inflatable slide (box above not opened yet), comes with MANY MANY balls. Last few days were spent picking up the balls. It was a good idea when I saw in packed in the box lah!

Before the balls came out. That was a good time man.

Here's Russell showing off his sexy shoulder in his oversized t-shirt, totally clueless. Ha ha!

Tis the Season....

....to be sick! The weather, the viruses out there....all have taken a toll on all of us at Paya Lebar.

Last Tuesday, Renee started with a runny nose. Then she got better without medication. By Thursday, I was down with a sore throat, then on Saturday, Russell had a runny nose. Monday evening, Russell fell from our bed when my FIL turned to get a pair of pants for him to wear. Vomit. Ah-lah, all panicked. Tuesday morning after I left for work, he vomitted again. This time in-laws decided to bring him to Dr. Vas for a check. Well, turns out the vomitting was not due to the fall, there is this "vomitting flu" going around. By the time they left the clinic, MIL also kena. She vomitted at the food court and on the way home. So she went to see the doctor. My SIL is also down with a cough. By afternoon, Renee caught the "vomitting flu" too. All she could consume was water and it all came out within 5 minutes.

So you can imagine the scene when I arrived home yesterday (trust me, my bus ride made me feel like one of them) all flat out on the sofa, like wounded soldiers. Only my FIL was awake hanging up all the laundry. And the best part, he had only 3 hours sleep the night before as he was sending my SIL around to her stores till 3am.

I have had little sleep as I was watching out for Renee's retching throughout the night. At 11pm, she puked all the water on my back and our bed so I decided to reach for the peepee pot everytime she stirred - all the way till 6.30am this morning. Hmmm......yawn, tired is the word!

Hopefully I return home to a more pleasant sight today.

Merry Christmas!

Let the Feasting begin

Are we feeling Christmas-sy yet? Yah-huh! Can't wait for the kids and Eugene to open the presents I got them.

Yesterday met up with my good friends for (guess what?) a makan session and Christmas get together. I felt soooo bad because I was too busy to get the kids their gifts but my kids got tonnes. Busy with what? Our house renovation. Progress is being made and I am terribly happy. It will probaby be ready in about two weeks! Yeah!

Russell's been cruising round his cot. The other day he woke up at 3.20am and started cruising, then falling, then getting up to cruise some more, just imagine Drunken Master. Hmm.....the rustling and "bom!" sound woke me. In the dark, he was looking at me and when he reaslised I was watching him, he gave me his fetching smile. Ha ha....Had to put him next to me before he drifted back to sleep.

The Purple Dinosaur is still in our lives, unfortunately. But after last week's incident, Renee doesn't insist on watching it at 11pm. Instead, now she wants to watch in our computer. "Mummy, I want to watch Barney on your compooter". I think she prefers it cos I got to be at her side to play the games, etc. Then halfway through, she'll want to watch Bob the Builder. "Mummy, I want to watch Biwder" "Bob the Biwder, can we fix it, yes we can", she replies her own question. Oh well.

We have parties lined up this week so it's gonna be fun! Will take plenty of pictures!

My smiley kids!

Here's Renee with her ku-mah, Eugene's sister. She was in a great mood that day. She went shopping with my in-laws and I met up with them at Cafe Cartel at Raffles City after my stock check on Friday.
Here's one of Russell. Dude likes to look into the mirror!! Ha ha

The Copycat

Nowadays, everything that Russell has, Renee must have as well.

1) Cereal. Russell is taking Nestle cereal. Renee must also have. I think that's the reason her diapers are now too small. Those cereal thingies are for growing kids right? Must have lots of calories or something.

2) L size diapers. Russell is using L-size. She must also use L-size. Err.....too small lah my dear. But she doesn't see my point.

3) Milk. Whenever Russell has his milk, she must also have it. Errmm.....she also has a load full of FOOD!! Geez.....

4) Bath tub. She must use the bath tub to bathe as well. And she must be the first one to bathe.

And if she doesn't get to do what Russell does, she will FUSS. Cry and complain really pitifully!

"Russell got milk, Renee no milk" as if I had been starving her!!!
But she forgot to mention that she just had a curry bun and Russell had none.
Complain, ramble, mumble mumble, wail....

"(pointing to Russell's diaper) This is Renee's diaper", "no, it's too small for you".
Complain, ramble, mumble mumble, wail....

I had to scream at her a few times over the weekend because I am not used to the constant whining! I believe she's jealous of the attention we've been giving Russell. Now that he is really mobile, we've had to keep our hands on him to prevent him from falling off the bed/couch and lunging off and flat onto the floor. So she's seeing that we are spending more time with him and that's she's being "left out". She has been lashing out at her brother off and on to show her displeasure at him being cared for more than her. When she threw something at him intentionally, I hit her and told her to stand in the corner. She ran to kitchen and then ran out and told me, "No, YOU stand in the corner, you no hit Renee". Ramble, wail, etc

I truly hope this phase will end soon. God help me man.
