Update: GUG and reading

Yeah yeah, I know I've been gone a long while. Been busy trying to get well. I hate it when I am sick cos it takes FOREVER to recover. My MIL was the one who got sick and then passed it to the kids and I am the last victim. It's been 2 weeks plus and I am at the tail end of the cough, the phlegm just refuses to go away. With the kids it is worse cos they will vomit if the coughing gets to violent. And last night that's what happened. Eugene and my FIL ended up cleaning the car till 11.30pm. At that point, the kids were already very tired so we decided to leave them at my inlaws for the night. No point having my inlaws rush over in the morning just a few hours later to come pick them up.

So for the first time in a while, I've had a good solid continuous 6.5 hour sleep. Pathetic hor? 6.5 hr nap and I'm so contented. Ha ha!

Russell started his first lesson at Growing Up Gifted on Sunday and Eugene was the one who accompanied him for the 90 minute lesson while Renee and myself ploughed through Suntec City with my inlaws. Yup, they decided their grandson's first class was a big deal so wanted to follow us. Anyway, according to Eugene there was a 10 minute snack break in which all the kids whipped out their snacks and Russell didn't have anything because I didn't know we were supposed to bring our own snacks!! So poor thing, Eugene said Russell just sat there drinking his water and just observed everyone else tuck in.....anyway, the good thing is that Renee's old teacher from the United Square branch was teaching Russell's class and her name is also RUSSELL!! Teacher Russell. She's a good one and was delighted to see us, "Grandma and Mummy" and she gave us a bow. So sweet!

Will take pictures next week, last week was quite chaotic because we were late and all the rushing meant I didn't have time to whip out my camera......

The kids have been enjoying our daily bed time stories. My friend YY got them this wonderful Eric Carle book and we've been fans ever since. I've been trying to add on to the collection. So far my favorite is The Grouchy Ladybug. The kids also enjoy Dr. Suess tremendously and there are so many out there to purchase! To reward myself for buying books for the kids, I've been buying my own books from the Twilight series. Ha ha!! What logic!!

The kids are a year older

We celebrated Renee's 4th birthday at Jumbo with my inlaws and my parents. She has been really "on" about her FOURTH birthday, telling everyone she's a big girl and that she was FOUR years old.

As school was still closed on her actual birthday, we celebrated it on 19th Feb instead. Cake from Awfully Chocolate, design choosen by Renee herself, she wanted pink flowers.....
We let Russell join in the picture cos he wanted to be near his jie jie....
After school, Mummy me drove her to Vivo City to pick a present of her choice. She picked the Thomas Train tunnel so she could share it with her di di. Awww...
Three weeks later, we celebrated Russell's 2nd birthday at Happy Restaurant. Here he is singing "happy birthday to me" to himself. HILARIOUS!

Looking at the cake, waiting to blow and cut cut cut it!!
