Renee's First Day!

Well! The day has finally arrived. Renee woke up at 7.40am before the alarm went off. Gave her her usual milk and she was in a really good mood. Mummy and Daddy also got ready and we set off for school!! just opposite the road!

When we got there, Renee was given some cornflakes which she ate by herself and thereafter, we went to the Multi-purpose Room where the Chinese teacher played some Chinese New Year songs....just to get all the children in the mood for the big event next week. At 9.30am, Teacher Shirley got all of the children to the Toddler's room where Renee just roamed around herself. This week, teacher said to let her explore anywhere she wants and not force her to join the group. After half an hour of her own exploration, Teacher Shirley brought out the fingerpaints. Renee was very hesistant to touch the paint while all the other children went at it with gusto! After that, there was more singing and and exploring and before long, it was lunch time. Fried udon with vegetables and carrots. Teacher Shirley was very impressed with Renee as she could eat rather neatly. A banana topped off the meal. After that, all the children were cleaned up or bathed and just had some make-friends time. Renee hit Li Shan on the head with a toy and after they made up, Renee started hugging Li Shan, eventually falling over her and hitting her own mouth and started bleeding. Hmmm......Teacher Shirley rushed to clean Renee up and the two made friends again.

Overall, I think the half day went well. Just that it may take a few more days for Renee to warm up and realise that she has to join her friends in circle time.

We left the centre around 12.15pm when her Grandparents arrived and after her bath, Renee fell into a deep deep sleep. Let's see what time Renee will wake up later.....
