Bonding time

With Eugene and myself on leave for the past few days, we've had time (like 100% of our time) with the two kids. In a way, I was kinda glad to be with them but it's been really tiring since keeping the children occupied at the wake is pretty intense. Fortunately Russell and Renee are easily entertained by my parents and all the aunties and uncles who came to pay respects to great grandma. Renee's been having a ball - eating the peanuts and mellon seeds non-stop! And all the aunties keep showering her with sweets!! argh! My worst nightmare!

Since Eugene has not been to school with Renee, we all agreed that he should sit in with her today. Ha ha, you should have seen Eugene's face when he heard our plan. "Huh?", "How long is the class?" "Two hours? So long ah?" ha ha ha ha.....why do the fathers have cold feet when tasked to do something alone with their own kids???? Geez......I purposely rubbed it in by assuring him that she PROBABLY wouldn't poop during class, and if she did there was a spare diaper in her bag....wah lao! He had a stunned face!! After the plan was communicated, Eugene had to keep repeating, "Renee, papa and you bonding time ah!"

Anyway, Renee knew that Daddy would be bringing her to class and she kept repeating it to everyone so when Eugene brought her inside (instead of me) she didn't kick up a fuss. I headed to my office with Russell to finish up some work and after that headed back to pick up father and daughter. Renee cried a little when she saw me and I found out that she fell asleep during the last 20 minutes of class!! Wah lao! What do you make of that?? Tomorrow's the cremation and Wednesday's a public holiday, another two full kid-filled days!! woppee!!
